British Association of Skin Camouflage
Organisation name
British Association of Skin Camouflage
Description
The British Association of Skin Camouflage (BASC) was formed in 1986 by Joyce Allsworth as a result of the realisation to promote, support or further the remedial techniques of camouflage for the relief of those who need to be restored to confidence in a normal appearance and thereby to help improve their quality of life. All members have received training by a BASC accredited tutor. Features of the BASC's service are as follows:
If you have any skin disorder, allergy or sensitivity you should consult your doctor and advise the camouflage cosmetician accordingly before undergoing the recommended treatment.
It is preferable to see someone trained in remedial camouflage who can advise you on the best product available for you and how to achieve the desired result.
Consultations take approximately one hour. During this time your camouflage cosmetician will instruct you in the application and use of the creams best suited to your specific needs.
The camouflage creams used by the Association are recommended by the NHS and prescribable by your family doctor. They are designed to conceal and blend in with the surrounding skin tones.
There may be a charge made for your consultation. Enquire at the time of booking. This will not include the cost of any creams for your future use.
